The original intention to make this page the REAL streaming archive of the seminars/salons/workshops sort of fell by the wayside.. too much else to preoccupy the raggletaggle mixture of people who did or didnt come. we had endless problems with archiving directly to disc on the PC.. sometimes files got overwritten, sometimes just archived black for 6 hours etc.. and the quality of the real stream was pretty blocky.. so in the end we left only one real archive up..(as a marker).. its ongoing anyway, so for now weve just compressed some of the streams from the master mix and put them up as progressive download QTs.. in principle each Wednesdays output is archived to tape with a general mix and 2 separate cameras.. the idea being that they can be edited and recomposited or overwritten, used in their turn as background, at a later date.. weve just compressed the uncut mix as it came out.. complete with bananities, inanities, profanities and an occasional idea.... at times we were privileged to welcome both well and unknown guests these were generally more interesting than trying to make sense of the rambling waffle of ol anchor man river, david larcher.. he who does not know..See for yourselves..
|Although at first we intended to put the complete seminars up.. due to questions of space some of them have been cut down.. each has its length, size and data rate .. altogether there are about 12 hours up from over 100..at the settings we generally use an hour (12gig) compresses to about 350mb... looking ahead, we plan to go through the tapes over the next 5 years.. shrinking the whole back into the smallest possible datastream and compressing each session down to the analytic hour.. difficult to predict wholl be speaking by then but since the tapes take up too much space already and the task of the archivist is an unenviable one, we thought we could emulate Life a Users Manual (George Perec) and eventually wipe out the record.. practically demonstrating that its the process that counts.. the reversible seminar.. erasure, time shifted trap door procedures, the message laid to rest in an array.. caught like a neutrino.. on the tip of the olde merlins pike.. noones yet inscribed a logo on one of those..

Étrange texte dont le pouvoir serait celui d'avoir déchiré, détruit, entièrement la parole d'un récit pour livrer la lecture directement aux objets, pour faire d'elle, sans écran, une perception immédiate des objets dans la flagrante évidence de leur sur-réalité. Le vide, c'est lorsque les objets ne sont plus portés par l'illusion d'un récit ou d'un
film qui les crédite d'une réalité; le vide, c'est aussi lorsque viennent à se distendre les rapports dont une parole les rendait perçus ou dont une attente les faisait sensibles. Et ce vide était la place du narrateur.
Je viens donc de décrire cette sorte d'auto-destruction du narrateur dont le sujet - l'ego - n'était autre que le vide. Ce n'est point d'une mort que nous parlons : elle est, comme on le sait, le contraire du vide. La mort remplit. Le vide - qui est sans doute le prototype ou la
